Mr. Alireza Haghighian, Ambassador-designate of our country in Islamabad, today (Thursday) met and conferred with H.E. Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan, at the Presidential Place of this country in order to present his credentials.
In this meeting H. Alireza Haghighian, while stressing the necessarily of boosting bilateral relations in all spheres specially in the economic, commercial and trade sector, and also forgoing cooperation in the energy sphere, and referring to the existence of numerous common traits and vast-ranging and deep ties between the two neighboring nations, the readiness of Tehran for a leap forward in such cooperation.
The Ambassador of our country, with regard, to the Iran-Pakistan Gas Project while pointing to the determination of the high-ranking officials of the two countries to finalize this project expressed the hope that practical phase of this Project will be completed within the stipulated period and the Project utilized accordingly.
Mr. zardari, while welcoming the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and wishing success to him in carrying out the assigned task the aimed at promotions bilateral relations specially in the economic sphere, stressed timely compilation of the Gas Pipeline Project and its exploitation and also regional cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.
