To mark the 22rd  death anniversary of Hazrat Imam Khomeini (R.A), a seminar titled "Thought of Imam Khomeini (R.A) and contemporary era " was held on June 2, 2011, at the Hall of the National Library of Pakistan.

This program was attended by considerable number of religious, political and media figures of Pakistan Senator Nayyar Hossain Bukhari, Maulana Shirani, Chairman of the Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan, Senator Abdul Khaliq Pirzada, and nine other political and religious activists of Pakistan expounded various dimension of the academic, religious and political personality of Hazrat Imam Khomeini (R.A) and the impacts of his movement in the contemporary are.

Mr. Shakeri, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, too, while thanking the audience, described the Islamic Republic as the vanguard of "explosion of light on the geographical expanse, calling Imam Khomaini (R.A) an the architect of this revolution .

He, while quoting from the poems of Iqbal, described the occurrence of Islamic Republic  as duly anticipated by the poet, and while referring to the letter addressed by Imam Khomeini (R.A) to Gorbachev, as a glorious historical document, noted the prediction of Hazarat Imam Khomeini (R.A) about the dismemberment of the Soviet Union and that he had introduced the current century as the " century for revival of Islam" .In this same connecution, a glorious ceremony, entitled " Conference, on Muslims Unity, with emphasis on the role of Imam Khomeini in the unity and solidarity of the Islamic Umah" was held at Athna Ashri Mosque, Islamabad, with the participation of and with the speeches from religious and political figures of the Shia and Sunni Muslims of Pakistan including Allama Syed Sajid Naqvi.
