Opening Ceremony of Iranology Centre and Laboratory of Persian Language in NUML

The Iranology Centre and the laboratory of the Persian language was inaugurated in the Persian language and literature Deptt of the NUML on the 21st of June 2011 in an official ceremony where in His Excellency the ambassador of Iran Mashallah Shakri, the Cultural Counselor of Iran, Ali Aghanoori and rector NUML Prof Dr Aziz Ahmed Khan were present along with a number of University teachers and other guests.

The ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran speaking on the said occasion thanked the cultural consulate regarding the establishment of the Iranology Centre and language laboratory. He, while describing the historical station of the Persian language in the Subcontinent, pointed toward the intrigues of the Colonial countries in connection with eliminating of the national languages of the country.


He expressed hope that for securing the Urdu language experiences gathered with respect to Persian may be made use of and steps be taken mutually for the sake of revival of common identities.


The Iranology Centre has been inaugurated on the basis of an agreement held between the Cultural Consulate of the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran and NUML.
