The IRI President received a group of scholars and elites in Mashad northeastern Iran.
President Ahmadinejad spoke of self esteem, bravery, decision making, and absolute faith in God as common characteristics of the elite.
The President asserted that the elite are part of the larger society and they shouldn't lose their common touch. He continued that the elite should do all they can to ensure a better future for their country.
President Ahmadinejad added that it was essential for the elite to distinguish friend from foe.
"There are those who waste their genius and endowments to do what the enemy incites, but they should define enemies and friends."
President Ahmadinejad expressed dissatisfaction with the Western index of economic growth and said dividing countries to developed and developing countries was to belittle the so called developing countries that if they wanted to improve their condition they should follow the Western model for development.
He also expressed his deep concerns over the abundance of translated materials of the Western oriented theories which are in complete contrast with "our social and psychological fundamentals".
