Thursday evening dated September 16, 2010, a high ranking women's delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by H.E. Ms. Mojtahedzadeh, Honourable Adviser to the President of Iran and Head of the Family and Women's Affairs Centre, arrived from Karachi in Islamabad in order to express sympathy and solidarity with the people, especially the flood-affected women and children.
During this visit, H.E. Ms.Aalia, Member of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) , Ms. Hedayati, Deputy Chief of the Centre (Planning and Program Affairs), Ms.Saghafi, Head of Fatima-Toz-Zahra (A.S) Foundation, and Mr. Mahdavi, Reporter of the delegation, accompanied Ms. Mojtahedzadeh.
The said delegation, during its one day visit to Islamabad, met and conferred with some of the high ranking authorities of Pakistan, including Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, two female members of Muslim League(Nawaz), Ms. Aashiq Awan, Federal Minister for Population Affairs, and Mrs. Farzana Raja, Head of the Benazir Bhutto Charity Organization.
Main subject of discussion of this delegation, during the visit, related to the flood situation in Pakistan, and expansion of cooperation between the two countries in women's sphere.
