On Friday morning, December 2, 2011, Mr. Ahmad Sobhani, Special Representative of the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in his meeting with H.E. Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, Pakistan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, while expressing sympathy and deep condolence of the nation and Government of Iran on the incident of the death of Pakistani troops in the attacks of the NATO forces against the soil of this country, denounced these attacks, and considered the presence of foreign forces as the factor for instability in the region.
In this meeting, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, while lauding and thanking for the support by the Government and nation of Iran at this juncture,  described the attack of the NATO forces against the soil of her country as a breach of the sovereiguty and independence of Pakistan, and viewed such measures as having negative impacts in the region.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed regional matters especially the developments in Syria. Mr. Sobhani, while referring to the interventions of aliens in the internal affairs of Syria, and the efforts of the Syrian Government for introducing reforms, laid emphasis on the support of the Islamic states in preserving the unity of the Islamic Ummah, and assisting the Syrian nation.
Mr. Rabbani Khar, too, pointing to the principled policies of her country in preserving the unity of the Islamic world, noted: “Pakistan has constantly opposed the intervention of foreign forces in the affairs of the Islamic countries, and sought resolution of the problems of the Syrian people through negotiations and domestic parleys.
It is worth-mentioning that the Special Representative of the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his visit to Pakistan, also met with the Foreign Secretary and Additional Secretary (Regional Affairs) of that Ministry, and discussed & exchanged views with them on bilateral relations, and regional & international issues.
