Inaugural of Art and Cultural Exhibition on the Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran

H.E. Mr. Alireza Haghighian, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan, accompanied by Dr. Firdaus Ashiq Awan, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting inaugurated the cultural and art exhibition depicting the works of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. This Exhibition, had been organized with the cooperation of the Cultural Counselors Office of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Pakistan National Council of Arts at the PNCA premises in Islamabad.

Art photographs from the era of the Islamic awakening in the region, and the 8-year long sacred defence, advanced Iranian industries, expansion of the infrastructure in various cities of Iran, together with 22,000 manuscripts of books, along with more than 11 thousand lithographic and rare books and also 35000 books about Farsi literature have been exhibited in the Fair.

Mr. Haghighian, while thanking and lauding the presence of Dr. Firdaus Ashiq Awan in the inaugural ceremony of the Exhibition, said: These days coincide with the brave victory of the people of Iran, and the establishment of Islamic Revolution in Iran, with the people of Iran once again being engaged in celebrating the anniversary of this glorious Revolution through out the world including the friendly, Muslim and neighbouring country of Pakistan.

He once again specified the victory and success achieved in various periods of the Islamic Revolution of Iran over the past 33 years, and noted: Despite the attempts of the West and arrogant elements, the Islamic Revolution of Iran continues the process of its prosperity, and we constantly appreciate the support and backing extended by the Government of Pakistan to the Islamic Revolution of Iran.


Dr. Firdaus Ashiq Awan, Pakistan's Minister for Information, too, in extending greetings on the advent of the anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, said: Ties between the two countries in view of common characteristics in cultural, religious, historical, ethical and traditional spheres between the people of Iran and Pakistan, are very close and cordial.

She termed the boosting and expansion of the level of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iran as the national aspirations of the people of the two countries, and said: The people of Pakistan and Iran need to boost interactions and common ties with each other.

Dr. Ashiq Awan, with reference to the hearty affection of the people of his country towards the nation and Government of Iran, added: Organizing of the cultural exhibition of the Islamic Revolution of Iran is an opportunity for the promotion of ties between the two countries and boosting of the level of bilateral cooperation in many of the spheres.

She described the present-day Iran as a complete example and aspiration for the people of the world, and said: The two countries have a common strategic performance for combating with the measures and threats of terrorism in the region.

This 8-day exhibition aims at introducing the culture and arts of Iran, recitation of the Holy Quran in chorus, screening of films, live traditional Iranian music, book and posters exhibitions. Islamic awakening in the region as well as various phases of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and the imposed war.
