Year 1984: Visit of Pakistani Interior & Foreign Ministers to Iran; Formation of a Joint Commission on Cooperation in Islamabad; Visit of Dr. Namazee, Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs & Finance, to Pakistan and signing of an agreement on formation of joint ministerial commission and MOU on cooperation; Visit of Dr. Najafi, Iran’s Minister of Culture & Higher Education, to Pakistan and signing of MOU on cooperation in educational, university & television affairs;

Year 1986: Historical visit of H.E. Ayatollah Khamenei’e, the then President of Iran, to Pakistan; Convening of the Second Session of the Joint Economic Commission in Tehran; Visit of Iran’s Minister of Islamic Guidance to Pakistan and signing of the Cultural, Scientific & Technical Program;

Year 1987:  Signing of the agreement on cooperation in overland (transit) transportation between the two countries; Convening of the third Session of the Joint Economic Commission in Pakistan; Signing of the border arrangements agreement; Daily exportation of Iranian oil to Pakistan; Establishment of schools of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad, Karachi & Quetta;

Year 1988: Resumption of Pakistani flights to Iran after a lapse of 8 years; Visit of Iranian Commerce Minister to Pakistan;

Year 1989: Commemoration of the ceremony on the demise of Hazrat Imam Khomeini (May Allah bless him), the great Leader of the Revolution, by the Government and the nation of Pakistan; Dispatch of greetings by Ms. Benazir Bhutto to Hazrat Ayatollah Khamenei’e on his being elected as the Leader of Iran; Visit of Mr. Nouri, Interior Minister, to Pakistan; Convening of the 4th Session of the Joint Economic Commission in Tehran and signing of the MOU on increasing the non-oil commmercial exchanges & technical cooperation; Signing of an economic agreement among Iran, Turkey and Pakistan in Tehran; Visit of Pakistan’s Oil Minister to Tehran; Visit of Pakistan’s Agriculture Minister to Iran and signing of MOU on cooperation;

Year 1991: Visit of Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, to Tehran; Visit of Mr. Ghulam Ishaq Khan, President of Pakistan, to Tehran; Visit of the Iranian Petroleum Minister to Pakistan; Convening of the Sixth Session of the Joint Economic Commission;

Year 1992:  Visit of Mr. Nawaz sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, to Tehran; Visit of H.E. Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani, President of Iran, to Pakistan; Visit of Iran’s Agriculture Minister to Pakistan; Visit of Pakistan’s Communications Minister to Iran; Convening of 7th Session of the Joint Economic Commission; Laying of foundation stone of the Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies in Pakistan;

Year 1997: Visit of Mr. Sahibzada Yaqub Khan, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister to Iran; Visit of Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, to Iran; Signing of MOU on exchange of goods; Commemoration of the golden jubilee anniversary of independence of Pakistan in Iran;

Year 1998: Visit of Dr. Kharrazi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, to Pakistan; Convening of the 10th Session of the Joint Economic Commission; Signing of an agreement on avoidance of multiple taxes;
