IRI non-oil exports to ASEAN members rise

The weight of Iran's non-oil exports to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations member countries have been increased 1.2 within four months since March 21, 2009.

 

Iran has exported some 535,000 tons of non-oil products to the ASEAN member states during the period while the figure was 445,000 tons year on year.

Petrochemical products, citrus, carpet, pistachio, food stuff which are religiously permissible from the Islamic point of view and herbs are among the most important goods which were exported.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN was established in 1967 in Bangkok by the five original Member Countries, namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

The body has now 18 members.
