holding of an exhibition of Quranic manuscripts at Iran – Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies

On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and promotion of Quranic culture, an exhibition, including a collection of Quranic manuscripts dating back to 8th to 12th century A.H. was inaugurated on Agu. 6, 2011, at the venue of the Iran- Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies. The inaugural ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Shakeri, Honourable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan, Ayatollah Moallemi, Honourable Member of the Assembly of Experts of the Leadership, and also a group of lady teachers and students from Azzahra (S.A.) Quranic Institute, Jamiat-uz-Zahra (S.A.) and the Iranian Youths Organization.
At the outset, Mr. Moghimi, Prominent Qari from the Islamic Republic of Iran, recited some verses from the Holy Quran Later, Mr. Ali Agha Noori, Head of the Cultural Counsellor's Office, while welcoming the guests, presented a report about the measures taken to exhibit these Quranic manuscripts in other cities of Pakistan. In continuation, Ayatollah Moallemi, while laying emphasis on the impact of the Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies in preserving and promoting Islamic culture and Persian language, mentioned a few verses from the Holy Quran, and explained matters related to the significance of the revelation of the divine book, and the necessity for promotion of the Quranic culture. The Honourable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, too, while pointing to the vast presence of females in the Quranic program, and welcoming the audience, spoke about the significance of the status of the Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies, and in referring to the statistics about the collection of manuscripts and lithographic books, gave certain examples.
He termed multiplicity of Quranic manuscripts and prevalence of Farsi language in Pakistan as an indication of the influence of Islamic culture and Farsi language & literature in this country, and considered provision of the expanded information for introducing this exhibition as essential.
In conclusion, the audience present in the inaugural ceremony went round this precious spiritual collection.
